The medal 100th-anniversary of ASOIU has been presented to Hungarian veteran graduates
On January 11, at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary, the "Jubilee medals of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (1920-2020)" were awarded to the Hungarian veterans-graduates of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
The honorary awards "Jubilee medal of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (1920-2020)" of the oldest Azerbaijani university were honoured Istvan Ulrich, former Deputy General Director of the Hungarian Oil and Gas Corporation (Magyar Olaj és Gázipari Részvénytársaság, MOL), Julianna Keteles-Baranyai, MOL specialist, President of the Association of Hungarian Alumni of Baku Universities, and deceased Luka Georgiev Zumpalov, an employee of the Hungarian Oil and Gas Research Institute. Zumpalov's medal was awarded to his widow Maria Kenesha, associate professor at ELTE University, a graduate of Baku State University.
Welcoming the guests, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Hungary, Tahir Tagizadeh, spoke about the contribution of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) to the development of relations between the two countries. He noted that the citizens of these countries received an excellent education in the classrooms and departments of the ASOIU. The guests shared their memories of their student years and proudly noted that they still maintain relations with their fellow students. Many of them have achieved great success in their professional careers.
