ASOIU attends the online conference within the framework of Unilab project

 

 

The online "study visit" within the framework of the Unilab project was held on September 22-23 with the participation of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

Partner universities participating in the project shared their experiences and discussed career opportunities with students. ASOIU's students and teachers took part in the two-day online conference and exchanged views with foreign mentors.

 

 

ASOIU joins the Internatinal "Unilab" project

 

 

From January 1, 2020, within the framework of the Erasmus + KA2 program funded by the European Union, in which the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ADNSU) is a participant, UniLab will hold a seminar on step ”project.

The main goal of the UniLab (University - Labor Market) project is to contribute to the modernization of the higher education sector in three partner countries within the community - Azerbaijan, Belarus and Russia.

Main direction: To take steps for the expansion of partnerships between stakeholders and universities and the development of graduates, taking advantage of the experience of EU Program partners and using their strategies in this area.

Employment strategy: support policy to promote work-based learning (WBL), legal framework and innovative practices, development and implementation of the UniLab model.

Notably, the meeting was organized by the project coordinator - EUCEN Organization and Pompeau Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain on March 10-12. At the meeting ASOIU was represented by Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Rafig Jamalov and Director of Public Relations and Marketing Nazarov Bahruz.

An online international conference was held within the project of which State University of Oil and Industry is partner

 

 

 

 

A virtual international conference entitled "Universities and Companies: Challenges and Perspectives in Partnership" organized by Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and Khazar University was held within the UniLab project.

It was stated from ASOIU to Azertag that at the conference, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University and chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, stressed the importance of further expanding cooperation between universities and companies.

The first part of the online conference, consisting of an introductory part and two plenary sessions was attended by the Rector of Khazar University, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Associate Professor Rafig Jamalov, Head of the National Erasmus + Office Parviz Bagirov, Deputy Head of the Department of Power and Energy Efficiency of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vusal Musayev.

The conference held in an online format in accordance with the action plan against the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic in the world, including Azerbaijan provided an extensive exchange of views on universities, their mutual scientific relations, challenges and perspectives. Speakers from SOCAR, "Azerishig" OJSC, "AzerGold" CJSC, "Data SoCool", "Baku Abadlig" LLC, VTB Bank, Khazar University eLink Research and Development Center, and Turan Drilling & Engineering also attended the conference.

Notably, the UniLab project, of which ASOIU is also a partner, attended by Pompeo Fabra (Spain), Lille (France), Krems (Austria), Gomel State, Mogilev State (Belarus) universities, Orenburg, Siberia, Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov and Almetyevsk Oil University ( Russia).

ASOIU attends the next online group discussion within the framework of the "UniLab" project

 

 

On January 21, another online group discussion was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) within the framework of the UniLab project.

At the meeting devoted to the general course of the project, the work done and to be done, and the creation of a single prototype model of the UniLab project was discussed. In addition, the project coordinators addressed the implementation of the newly created prototype module of the UniLab project by partner universities and the steps to be taken to expand relations with partner companies and the project website.

Project coordinator Carme Royo said that the standard prototype created by UniLab would play a special role in building relationships between students and employers.

A series of seminars have been held at ASOIU within the framework of the UniLab project

 

 

From November 26 to December 24, a series of information days (seminars) for students was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) within the framework of the UniLab project.

The seminars were attended by Ulviya Abbasova, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations of ASOIU, Leyla Nagieva, Head of the International Projects Sector of the International Cooperation Office, Shahin Geyushov, Head of Practical Internship Division of the Public Relations and Marketing Department at ASOIU and students of all faculties.

At the seminars, presentations were made about the essence, goals of the UniLab project and the work done. Students were also provided with detailed information on international exchange programs, ERASMUS Plus, application rules and the learning process. In addition, the difficulties and problems faced by students during the internship were discussed, and the opinions and suggestions of students listened. At interactive seminars, questions of interest to students were answered.

 

 

ASOIU attends the next online meeting within the framework of the "UniLab" project

 

 

On December 14, a regular working meeting was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) within the framework of the UniLab project.

The online meeting discussed the work done by the partner universities within the project's framework, the tasks ahead, the current affairs that need to be completed, and the expansion of relations with partner companies.

At the meeting, partners also presented "Development in the academic and scientific field" and "Student portal". It was noted that the modules developed by Russian and Belarusian universities, after translation, will be presented to the project partners.

 

ASOIU attends the presentation of the "UniLab" portal

 

 

 The presentation of the "UniLab" portal, created by the University of Krems of Austria, within the framework of the UniLab project, with the participation of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), was held On September 22-23.

ASOIU's staff and students also joined the online meeting that was attended by partner universities. The presentation referred to the importance of the recently created portal for partner universities, as well as companies and students, provided information about the main opportunities and benefits. At the end, the ideas and suggestions of the participants were listened to.

Notably, the "UniLab" portal, as a single platform uniting universities and companies, provides students with information about internships and employment opportunities, and companies - the opportunity to share information about vacancies. ASOIU students can also apply for all international internships and job advertisements posted on the portal.

 

ASOIU holds the next "Focus Group Discussion" within the framework of the "Unilab"

 

 

On February 26 the next “Focus Group Discussion” within the framework of the “UniLab” was held with the partner companies of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

The online discussion attended by the private and state enterprises cooperating with ASOIU as “Azergold” CJSC, “Azerishig” OJSC, “Omur” Hospital, “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC, CBM Engineering, “Azerenergy” OJSC, “Baku Landscaping Service” LLC, “Biological Medicine” clinic featured discussion on enterprises, their areas of activity, cooperation, as well as internship opportunities of enterprises, involvement of students and graduates in practical internship, as well as staff training in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.

Opening the conference, ASOIU's deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations Ulviya Abbasova greeted the participants and provided them information about the purpose and main directions of the project.

Speaking about the cooperation with ASOIU, Valid Aliyev, Chief Specialist for Human Resources of Azergold CJSC, made a presentation on the internship programs and stressed the importance of working with universities to help students to acquire practical skills.

Turan Badalov, a specialist of the Human Resources Department of Azerenergy OJSC, spoke about the existing agreement with the university to involve students in internship programs, as well as new job opportunities created for graduates.

Making a presentation on the internship programs, Dilbar Khalilova, a leading specialist of the Career Management Department of Azerbaijan Railways, noted that the main goal is to familiarize young people with new technologies in the work process, to involve them in scientific-research and to instill them other communication skills.

Representatives of other companies also made a speech about the existing cooperation with universities, the importance of joint work regarding the internship, as well as the requirements of the modern labor market, the experience and job opportunities created for students and graduates.

A reporting meeting is held within the framework of international projects with the participation of ASOIU

 

 

On April 1, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted a reporting meeting of employees on a business trip within the framework of the Erasmus + project.

The meeting was attended by ASOIU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Rafik Jamalov, deans, heads of departments and university academic staff.

Gulshan Aliyeva, the Department of Foreign Languages lecturer, gave a detailed report on her visit to Spain as part of the Erasmus + program and teaching English-II (Advanced) at the University of Alcalá. She informed the participants about the teaching process, assessment criteria and other topics used during the teaching process.

Then Leyla Nagiyeva, Head of the international projects sector, made a report on the meetings held with partner universities at the University of Lille, France, within the framework of the UniLab project. She gave general information about the project's purpose, meetings held during the project, partner universities and upcoming issues.

Further, Rasim Abdullayev, Advisor to the Rector of ASOIU on Information Technologies and Innovations, spoke about the T4T (Train-the-Trainer) International Training Week and new projects held in Bilbao, Spain, on March 7-11 within the framework of the Erasmus + Work4CE project.

At the end of the meeting, the participants' questions were answered. The issues of applying innovations in teaching at foreign higher educational institutions and cooperation in practice were discussed.

 

ASOIU employees visit France within the framework of an international project

 

 

On March 14-19, meetings with partner universities were held at the University of Lille in France within the framework of the UniLab project with the participation of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

At the meeting that was held with the participation of partner universities' representatives from Austria, Spain, the UK and other countries, ASOIU was represented by Ulviya Abbasova, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations of ASOIU, Leyla Nagiyeva, Head of the International Projects Sector of the International Cooperation Department, and Gunel Tagiyeva, Public Relations Manager of the Public Relations and Marketing Department.

During the 4-day meeting, the parties discussed the work done within the framework of the UniLab project, upcoming issues, and the ongoing work on the project. They also exchanged views on expanding relations with partner companies and talked about partner universities' internship opportunities in companies and the individual experience of career centres.

There was also a presentation on the UniLab portal during the meeting, created by the University of Krems, Austria. The participants have explained the principle of operation, the importance and the possibilities of using the portal. The presentation also noted the importance of the new portal for partner universities, companies and students, provided information on key features and benefits and listened to participants' suggestions. Further, partners made presentations on "Academic and Scientific Development" and "Student Portal" at the meeting. In conclusion, the opportunities for cooperation between universities and partner companies and the importance of joint training and exercises were noted. They also touched upon the shortcomings in the issue of attracting students and graduates of some partner universities to internships and employment in companies, exchanged views on overcoming existing problems.

In addition, the participants visited the laboratories, libraries and auditoriums of the University of Lille, got acquainted with the Scientific Center for Artificial Intelligence and High Technologies and other research centres.
