Coastline cleaning at the Caspian Seashore Walking the talk with team spirit

Recently, a coastal cleaning was held on the Shikh beach of the Caspian Sea with the participation of faculty members and students of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and the French-Azerbaijan University (UFAZ).

The event was organized within the framework of "International Maritime Day" and "Caspian Week" with the participation of then Vice-Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov and the leadership of UFAZ. Around 2 hectares of land on the Caspian coastline were cleaned of solid household and other types of waste.

Combining the environmental protection philosophy with physical action brings together all levels of stakeholders from around ASOIU community to serve related SDGs including SDG 15. Moreover, it takes one SDG at a time to raise a complete awareness of all SDGs and make every individual who is associated with ASOIU a kind of environmental steward.

The university leadership believes these actions help stay the course and be in compliance with ASOIU’s Sustainability Plan.
