International Cooperation Office

Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, founded in 1920, is one of the largest state universities in the Caucasus region with more than 18,000 students and 400 international students. 640 teachers with various scientific degrees teach core and elective subjects in more than 50 fields of study. Specialist training at ASOIU is carried out at all three levels of higher education, i.e. at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. Currently, the university has 7 faculties and 28 departments.


Today, the university has direct partnership relations with 75 universities of more than 25 countries. Students and academic staff are exchanged within the framework of existing agreements, and joint research projects. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) program was established in the university as a result of the cooperation of ASOIU with Georgia State University of the USA. The MBA curriculum is developed in partnership with the University of Georgia and is updated annually.


As a result of close cooperation with Siegen University in Germany, business management majors were organized at ASOIU. In addition, the university has student exchanges with a number of higher education institutions, including the University of Leicester and Keele University (United Kingdom), Middle East Technical University and Istanbul Kültür University (Turkey), Strasbourg University and Rennes 1 University (France) under Erasmus+ International Credit.


Over the past few years, ASOIU signed cooperation agreements with Gdansk University (Poland), KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (India) and KMU University (South Korea).


In 2023, the Dual Diploma Program was launched between the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and Warwick University at the master's degree in "Renewable energy sources". Also, cooperation agreements were signed between Bahçeşehir University (Turkiye), National Research Technical University named after KI Satpayev (Kazakhstan), and International Association of Hydrogeologists (Great Britain) and ASOIU.


ASOIU participated in a number of international projects aimed at improving the quality of education and introducing innovations in the training system. Within the framework of the TEMPUS program of the European Union, a bachelor's degree in environmental protection was organized at ASOIU. Since 2015, ASOIU has joined the Erasmus+ network. Within the Erasmus+ program, the university is being a part of various projects (MAGNUS, UNILAB, WORK4CE).
