Sustainability Partnership

SDG-17 outlines the objectives of enhancing the mechanisms for implementing all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reinvigorating global partnerships for sustainable development. At Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, we hold the belief that forging partnerships between the university and various stakeholders such as industry, public society, and notably government bodies, both domestically and internationally, is essential for addressing the multifaceted societal challenges in our community and laying the groundwork for a sustainable future. Below is a catalog of our partners in pursuit of sustainability:

On a global scale, the agreements with our international partners primarily focus on equipping our students with the essential qualities of a rigorous scientific mindset, a spirit of inquiry, and entrepreneurial skills necessary for addressing the challenges of sustainable development. Collaboratively, we strive to contribute to the attainment of all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Azerbaijan's Vision 2030 by focusing on four key objectives: delivering high-quality education, conducting cutting-edge research, fostering groundbreaking innovation, and actively engaging with civil society. Through partnerships with citizens, educators, public and private sectors, as well as university researchers, teachers, and students, we engage in co-creating knowledge that can lead to solutions for societal issues, which may vary across countries.

ASOIU collaborates with renowned universities and academic institutions worldwide to facilitate student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and the development of dual degree programs. Partnerships with institutions such as The University of Warwick in the UK and UCSI University in Malaysia enable cross-cultural learning experiences and global academic collaboration. The collaboration between Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and The University of Warwick has led to the establishment of a Master of Science (MSc) Dual Diploma Program specializing in Renewable Energy. This program aims to develop a fresh cohort of renewable energy specialists by utilizing cutting-edge scientific advancements and innovative educational approaches within our country. The key objective of this program is to provide access to UK education in Azerbaijan, thus removing the need for travel to England. This initiative will produce local professionals equipped with proficiency in renewable energy technologies.

ASOIU collaborates closely with government agencies and ministries in Azerbaijan, such as the Ministry of Energy, to align academic programs with industry needs and national development strategies. Additioally, On October 17, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA) under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The partnership aims to advance scientific research domains and facilitate both theoretical and practical research endeavors. It also involves the creation of educational materials and the improvement of the educational process.
