Geology and development of mineral deposits

“Geology and development of mineral deposits” department was established on the basis of “Development of mineral deposits” and “Mineralogy, petrography and lithology” departments.  The department consists of 3 professors, 11 assisstent professors, 3 assisstants. Training laboratory of the department is led by G.Guliyeva and 6 chief laboratory assisstant work at the department.

         Training of specialists is carried out at Bachelor and Master degrees on 050506 “Mining engineering” and 050508 “Geology” specialties at the department. The department is led by c.t.s., Phd. R.T.İsmayilov. The department has ties with International Mining Operation Company of RV Investment LTD of USA, “Azinter explosion X” LTD, Moscow Mining University of RF, Ural Mining State University, Freiberg Technical University of Germany. 

          The students of the department distinguished in the education pass probations on Gadabey gold-copper, Gosha gold, Dashkesen iron ore of International-Mining Operation Company (IMOC) and at the objects of “Azerinter explosion-X” and they work on the graduation works and master dissertations dedicated to the implementation and organization of various production processes.

         “Mining engineering” specialty implements training of specialists in the field of the development of mineral deposits of the Republic by means of open and underground methods. 

         Skilled personnel are trained on “Geology” specialty attached to Geological-exploration faculty of the University taking into account rich ore deposits of Azerbaijan as well as great potential for opening up new fields.

         The purpose of staff training on “Geology” specialty is to prepare specialists on Sedimentology, Mineralogy, Petrography and Geochemist that are important for the exploration of metallic and non-metallic fields and organization of mining works of the Republic.
