On December 13, a meeting with the working group led by deputy director of the Institute of Food Safety Jamal Guliyev and the students studying on specialties of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
Speaking about the importance of the food safety, deputy director of the Institute of Food Safety Jamal Guliyev noted that after the establishment of the Food Safety Agency by the order of the head of state in 2017, a centralized monitoring mechanism has been formed in this area, and food safety has sufficiently been improved.
Speaking about the importance of eliminating the existing shortcomings in this area, J.Guliyev said that there is a serious need for qualified professionals, students and young people. He added that cooperation in this direction with ASOIU is carried out. According to the new project, students, volunteers studying at the university on the relevant specialties, will be involved in collaboration after undertaking an internship at the Food Safety Institute and the agency.
Notably, Food Engineering specialty has already been established in ASOIU and from the next academic year, this specialty will be taught at the Department of Organic Substances and Technology of High-Molecular Compounds.
