ASOIU holds the last meeting of Academic Board in 2019

On December 26 the next meeting of Academic Board held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

After providing information about the issues on the agenda, ASOIU's Rector, professor Mustafa Babanli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov provided information on the status of preparation for the examination session for 2019-2020 academic year. He noted that the headquarters was established in order to organize the exams in efficient and objective form and to immediately solve the arising problems. Also, a responsible person has been appointed and "hot line" operates in this direction. After the report was heard, Rector Mustafa Babanli gave them relevant tasks on the examination process and stressed the importance of proper assessment of students' knowledge.

According to the issues on the agenda, Dean of the Foreign Students Office, Candidate of Technical Sciences Yashar Hasanov provided information about the condition of the education of foreign students and doctoral students and their attendance. At the meeting, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Ilman Hasanov gave an annual report.

Then, the report of Ziya Aliyev, Associate Professor, the adviser of the Rector M.Babanli, on "Global Competitiveness of Leading Universities of the Republic of Azerbaijan: Challenges and Prospects" was heard. The report was analyzed the universities that ranked by the world university ranking and the required criteria for this, and exchange of views was made among the members of the Board. The proposal was made to establish an Analytical Research Center on this issue and to appoint Associate Professor Ziya Aliyev as head of the Center and was unanimously approved by a vote of the Board members. The Executive Director of the Azerbaijan-French University (UFAZ) functioning under the ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Askerov, provided information on the current situation and optimization of the " Grades adjustment schedule between France and Azerbaijan's higher education systems".  

Expressing his comments and suggestions on each discussed topic, Rector Mustafa Babanli emphasized that teachers should provide students not only education but also teach discipline rules. Then, he noted that everyone is responsible for the work to be conducted on the 100th anniversary of ASOIU. He congratulated the members of the Board, as well as students and teaching staff of the university on the occasion of the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year and wished everyone success.
