On January 6, the press conference was held at the Azerbaijan-French University (UFAZ) functioning under the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) regarding the launch of training on Master's Degree from 2020/2021 academic year.
The meeting was attended by ASOIU's Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Zakari Gross, head of the Department of Science, Higher and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education Yaqub Piriyev, head of International Cooperation Office Nijat Mammadli, UFAZ Scientific Expert and Professor for Computer Science at the University of Strasbourg Pierre Collet, UFAZ Director, Associate Professor Vazeh Askerov, Secretary General Charlotte Payen and media representatives.
Speaking about the establishment of the master's degree at UFAZ, Rector, Professor M.Babanli noted that the main goal is to provide young people with the higher education relevant to European standards. He also underlined that 129 students who will graduate from UFAZ this year is a great success.
Noting that, 2020 is important year for UFAZ, Ambassador Z.Gross evaluated the admission to the master's degree in 3 specialties at UFAZ as one of the achievements. Recalling that the establishment of master's degree at UFAZ is the state investment for Azerbaijani youth, the Ambassador Z.Gross emphasized that the French Embassy always supports these work.
Head of the Department of Science, Higher and Secondary Education at the Ministry of Education Yaqub Piriyev noted that they want to apply the great experience gained at UFAZ in other universities. Expressing his hope that as in baccalaureate, the master's degree also will be successful, Y.Piriyev noted that the project is of great importance for students.
Professor of the University of Strasbourg Pierre Collet provided information on master's degree to commence from the new academic year, and noted that 80 master students are expected to study in the 2020/2021 academic year. He also noted that students of the master's degree will also have the opportunity to gain a scholarship in order to conduct research in France from the second year of study.

Notably, at the end of the two-year master's program, graduates will be presented two diplomas (ASOIU and UNISTRA). As in bachelor degree, the training in master's program will be conducted in English. All local and foreign students who have scored more than 70 points from the State Examination Center's exam to the magistracy will be able to submit the documents at UFAZ and master's education in 3 specialties is funded by the Republic of Azerbaijan. UFAZ's entrance exams is planned to be held on April 27. At the same time, students from the second year of study will have the opportunity to gain a scholarship in order to conduct research in France.
