On February 17, within the framework of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) the opening ceremony of the specialized auditorium named after the academician Chingiz Juvarli was held.
The event was attended by the ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, Director of the Research and Design and Energy Institute of Azerenerji OJSC, head laboratory of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician Arif Hashimov, leading researcher of the institute of Physics of ANAS Kamil Gurbanov, Associate Professor of Azerbaijan Technical University Gara Hasanov, Deputy Chairman of "Azerishiq” OJSC Gadir Ismayilov,Director of “CBM ENGINEERING” LLC Zulfugar Nurubeyli, vice-rectors, academic staff of the university and students.
Ilham Rahimli the Associate Professor of the ASOIU’s Department of “ Electromechanics” and the graduate student of Chingiz Juvarli provided brief information to the participants about the life and work of Chingiz Juvarli, the founder of the Azerbaijan electrophysical school, one of the famous figures of the world energy science.
Making a speech, ASOIU's Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about the decree by the President Ilham Aliyev on holding the 100th anniversary of ASOIU and the events to be held within the framework of the 100th anniversary. Noting that ASOIU has auditoriums named after the prominent figures, Rector Mustafa Babanli stressed that this multifunctional auditorium named after Chingiz Juvarli operates both as classroom and laboratory.
In his speech, dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering, Associate Professor Zakir Hasanov noted that the newly opened auditorium is important for improving the students' teaching environment and is a sign of deep respect for prominent personalities.
Later making a speech, Director of the Research and Design and Energy Institute of Azerenerji OJSC, head laboratory of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician A.Hashimov, Professor Nurali Yusifbayli, Professor Asgar Guliyev spoke about the life and work of the prominent scientist, shared memories about him.
Notably, the auditorium named after Chingiz Juvarli on the balance of the Electromechanic Department of Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Department of Energy of ASOIU has been presented to students.
Today, based on the presentation of the Faculty of Power Engineering, ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli made a petition in the next meeting of the Academic Board on granting the scholarship named after Chingiz Juvarli to two students with high results and studying in the baccalaureate and master's level of the university.
