On May 22 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held video seminar on "New opportunities created by renewable energy technologies" and "Thermodynamic analysis of heat carriers of alternative and renewable energy sources".
The online conference held within the framework of the action plan dedicated to the 100th anniversary of ASOIU was attended by representatives of a number of government agencies, academic staff of the university and master students.
Greeting the guests, deputy chairman of the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (SAARES) of Azerbaijan, head of the ASOIU's Department of Energy Production Technologies, Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli spoke about the development of the Azerbaijan Electric Power Systems (EES). He underlined that the rapid development of economic-oriented areas in our country in recent years has given impetus to this sector to reach a new stage. It is no coincidence that today Azerbaijan collaborates with leading countries that have achieved significant success in the field electrical power engineering and uses their experience. He added that the new opportunities created by renewable energy technologies, thermodynamic analysis of heat carriers of alternative and renewable energy sources, and the innovations that are regularly obtained in this direction promise significant prospects for the fundamental development of this field.
In the video conference Associate Professor Javid Safarov, a member of Rostock University, Germany, Institute of Technical Thermodynamics, Associate Professor Shahriyar Nasirov, Founding and Academic Director of Executive Master Program in Renewable Energy Technologies and Management made a speech on mentioned topics. During the seminar lasted about two hours, discussions were held around the topic, demands and suggestions were voiced.
