60% of online defense of master's dissertations has been completed at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Starting from June 19, the defense of the dissertations are held online according to the relevant instructions of the Ministry of Education in accordance with the action plan conducted against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic in the country. This year, 495 master's students graduate from ASOIU. Along with the members of the commission established for each specialty, the vice-rectors of the university - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Professor Rauf Aliyarov and Dean of the Master’s Degree Division, Associate Professor Azizagha Gurbanov also attend the defense.
Notably, due to the high level of technical support for holding online defenses no any problem occurred. The defense of the dissertation will end on July 8.Dissertation defenses will be re-organized in September 2020 for masters who are unable to participate in the defense due to the technical or any other reason, as well as for those whose dissertations are not ready yet.
