Petroleum and Reservoir Engineering Department Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University is in collaboration with various companies and organizations such as SOCAR, BP, Schlumberger, Baker-Hughes, Halliburton, Total, Roxar, Petex, Kappa, SPE Azerbaijan and others. This is done to increase the quality of education.
The department students have an opportunity to get familiarized with and get educated to modern software including geomodelling, PVT-analysis, PTA analysis and interpretation, production and injection system optimization, optimum well performance, etc.
The software available to the department is widely used in the energy industry by the leading companies.
ROXAR has kindly provided the following software for free of charge:
IRAP RMS – integrated modular 3D geomodelling system capable of building and maintaining the geologic models of the reservoirs under development stage
TEMPEST – integrated 3D reservoir simulation software.
Petex (Petroleum Experts) has donated IPM (PROSPER - Well Modelling and Design; MBAL - Reservoir Analytical Simulation; PVTP - Fluid Characterization; GAP - Multiphase Network Optimization; REVEAL - Specialized Reservoir Simulator & Near Wellbore Reservoir Simulator; RESOLVE - Integrated Production Controller) software package of the equivalent of £2,025,307.17 and MOVE (2D Kinematic Modelling, 3D Kinematic Modelling, Geomechanical Modelling, Fracture Modelling, Fault Response Modelling, Fault Analysis, Stress Analysis) software package of the equivalent of £1,821,128.40 to the University.
IPM allows modeling of the entire production flow process (reservoir, wells, distribution of oil, gas, and water) and optimizes the development of petroleum fields.
This package gives students the opportunity to practice in petroleum engineering and field development management.
Kappa provided Ecrin software package for free
Saphir – PTA analysis;
Topaze – decline analysis and forecasting;
Diamant – downhole permanent pressure gauge data analysis;
Emeraude – production logging analysis and interpretation;
Rubis – numerical modeling.
