On June 3 Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Mustafa Babanli met with President of the Israel-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (IACC) Alex Kaplun.
The meeting featured discussion on cooperation with ASOIU and the activities of the Israeli-Azerbaijani Training Center functioning under the university, as well as the forthcoming issues.
Later, ASOIU's Rector, Professor M.Babanli awarded A. Kaplun with the "Jubilee medal of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (1920-2020)" for his close cooperation with the university, as well as for his services in the establishment of the Israel-Azerbaijan Training Center.
Notably, according the decree dated December 26, 2020 President Ilham Aliyev approved amendments to the law "On the establishment of orders and medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan" in connection with the establishment of the anniversary medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the amendment, the "Jubilee medal of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (1920-2020)" was established. The jubilee medal of Azerbaijan Republic is presented to the employees of the body appointed by the relevant executive authority, including former employees, veterans, graduates, who have achieved high achievements in science, education, and oil and industry, made a notable contribution to developing these fields, participated in socio-cultural development, as well as citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, foreigners and stateless persons who have rendered special services in the implementation of state policy in the field of science, education and international cooperation and in the development of the body (institution) determined by the relevant executive authority.
Recall that, IACC and ASOIU have been cooperating for many years. This cooperation covering the field of education and innovation has become more intensive since 2019, and in the same year entered a new phase with the establishment of the Israel-Azerbaijan Training Center at ASOIU on the basis of the Israeli training methodology. IACC, which is also involved in charitable activities in Azerbaijan, stood by the people of Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War and provided support to the army.
