ASOIU holds the first meeting of the Academic Board in the new academic year

On September 22, the first meeting of the Academic Board of the new academic year was held in the traditional format at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

At the beginning of the meeting, a minute of silence was observed to the memory of our heroic sons who died in the 44-day Patriotic War and the memory of the university staff who became victims of the pandemic. Then the Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, having informed the members of the Academic Board about the issues on the agenda, announced the statistics of admission for the current academic year, provided data on the work done on innovative education and indicators for the main areas of activity. The Rector stressed that in organizing quality education in the new academic year, the health and safety of employees and students should be a priority.

Rector Mustafa Babanli said that the necessary measures have been taken to start traditional education, and at the moment one of the most important issues is active participation in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic and compliance with the established instructions for everyone. According to the agenda, after Academic Board's members' discussion, it was decided to create a working group to ensure prompt resolution of issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. It was noted that the university will have a "Vaccination Room" and isolation rooms on each floor.

Then, Professor Mustafa Babanli introduced other issues from the agenda for discussion by the Academic Board's members. Along with structural changes, the work to be done within the traditional organization of the 2021-2022 academic year, the current assessment criteria, the state of teaching in English, and other important tasks were discussed. By the decision of the Academic Board, it was decided to establish a scholarship named after Nizami Ganjavi.

At the end, the Rector gave recommendations on the issues discussed and wished everyone success in the new academic year.
