ASOIU hosts an event dedicated to Memorial Day

On September 27, an event dedicated to Memorial Day was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

At the event, that began with a procession and a wreath-laying in front of the Complex in memory of the martyred graduates of ASOIU who died in the Second Patriotic War and that held by the rules of the quarantine regime, the Rector of the ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, the Chairman of the Public Reliance Council, MP Aydin Mirzazade, the academic staff of the university, students, as well as family members and relatives of the deceased graduates were present.

At the beginning of the event, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded, and then the memory of all the martyrs who died in the 44-day Patriotic War was honored with a minute of silence.

Further, a documentary film "Heroes who made history" about the martyred graduates of ASOIU prepared by the university was demonstrated.

Opening the event, the Rector of ASOIU, Professor M. Babanli spoke about the successful policy pursued by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, which led to victory in our just war, about the unity of the Azerbaijani people, the strength of our army, and the courage of heroic sons. Rector M. Babanli said that the martyrs who fought to the last drop of blood and gave the people of Azerbaijan this Victory will always live in the hearts of people. He stressed that the university will always honor the memory of the 22 martyred graduates of ASOIU who contributed to the victory inscribed in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Public Reliance Council, MP Aydin Mirzazade spoke about the factors that led to the historic victory, stressing that with this victory we demonstrated our national unity, strength, and determination to the whole world.

Family members and relatives of the martyrs also spoke at the event, shared their memories, and thanked them for the attention and respect shown to the martyrs.
