On October 5, an event dedicated to International Teacher’s Day was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

Speaking at the event that started with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, congratulated the entire teaching staff.

Continuing his speech with the words of the national leader Heydar Aliyev - “I don’t know any name higher than the name “teacher”, the rector, professor M. Babanli, emphasized the work of teachers in educating youth in the spirit of patriotism, which led to our victory in the Great Patriotic War and said that along with high school, university teachers also have an exclusive responsibility in this work.

In their speeches, ASOIU associate professors Gultar Nasibova and Takhira Huseynova thanked the university administration for the attention, care shown to the teachers, and said that they would do everything possible in this responsible and worthy work.

Then the names of the teachers who identified themselves in labour activity in the 2020/2021 academic year were announced.

Notably that in 1994, UNESCO declared October 5 as World Teachers Day.
