Job and Career Fair takes place at UFAZ

On October 15, French-Azerbaijani Job and Career Fair took place for the 1st time at French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ), functioning under Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
Partner companies, media representatives, guests, students and alumni attended the event, organised by UFAZ, the French Embassy in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce, and Azerbaijan-France Alumni Association.
Opening the event, UFAZ Director Vazeh Asgarov thanked the organisers of the Fair for their support in holding such a high-level event and expressed his gratitude for UFAZ hosting such an event that would benefit the French-Azerbaijani education system.
Welcoming the participants, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan HE Zacharie Gross said that such a career fair, attended by various companies, creates a wide range of employment opportunities for students and graduates and invites them to use it for better ends.
Highlighting the development of Azerbaijan-French educational relations, the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, Tural Ahmadov, spoke about the importance of holding such job fairs in the formation of young and talented personnel.
ASOIU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Rafig Jamalov, stressed that ASOIU and UFAZ have extensive international relations and called such events organised by UFAZ the most obvious example of these relations.
Expressing her gratitude for the event's organisation, Teyba Guliyeva, chairwoman of the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce, said that today's Fair has a unique role in improving the business environment with the university and creating a wide range of job opportunities for young talents.
Regis Agut, General Director of TotalEnergies EP Absheron, and other company representatives stressed the importance of the event, which will improve networking within the exhibition environment and help many Azerbaijani graduates studying in France to discover ways of professional success.
Later, participants visited the Fair and got acquainted with information stands of the leading French education institutions operating in Baku, as well as Pasha Bank, Alstom, Schlumberger, Campus France Azerbaijan, Société Générale, French Institute Azerbaijan, Baku French Lyceum, and other educational institutions and companies, and got information about careers opportunities and vacancies.
During the exhibition, information stands of the companies and institutions were presented, and experts delivered presentations about the enterprises they represent.
The Fair was for alumni of the French Higher Education System, as well as young Azerbaijani Francophones, and others, young Azerbaijanis (high school pupils, students, and young professionals) with academic profiles (languages, economics, law, political science, engineering, medicine, arts, etc.) who seek discovering career and employment opportunities offered in Azerbaijan. Besides, participants got a chance to listen and talk with dozens of high-level Azerbaijani professionals and university teachers, education and government officials, representatives of companies, culture, sports, and civil society. Each of them holds important positions in different fields and is a graduate of the French higher education system.
