MGIMO's Center for Sustainable Development expands cooperation with Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and the Center for Sustainable Development (MCSD) MGIMO have agreed to develop scientific research and education cooperation.

Within the 13th Russian International Studies Association (RISA) framework, "Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities for Business" was held. On the sidelines of the session, agreements were reached on expanding cooperation in research and educational spheres between the MCSD MGIMO and several scientific and educational institutions. In particular, a meeting was held with the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University Rector Mustafa Babanli, where they discussed developing cooperation. As a result of the session, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the MGIMO Center for Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation (MCSD) and the Azerbaijan company Caspian Hydrogen Development Group LLC.

October 14-16th, the 13th Russian International Studies Association (RISA) Convention was launched at MGIMO. It brought together several major international conferences, more than 70 discussion sessions, special events of multilateral and bilateral dialogue platforms, partner scientific and educational institutions. About 2,000 leading scientists, experts, government officials and the corporate sector from different countries, including Azerbaijan, participated in the Convention.

The session"Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities for Business" was moderated by the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation, Head of MGIMO's International Complex Problems of Natural Resources Use and Ecology Department, Azerbaijan's Trade Representative in the Russian Federation Ruslan Aliyev and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Shareholder of Business News Media ZAO (publisher of the business newspaper Vedomosti) Ivan Eremin.
