ASOIU celebrates November 8th - Victory Day

On November 5th, an event dedicated to November 8th - Victory Day was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

The event that began with a procession and the laying of a wreath in front of the complex in memory of the ASOIU's graduates-martyrs held by the rules of the quarantine regime was attended by the Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, the academic staff, students, as well as ​martyrs' family members and relatives.

The event started with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and then the guests were shown a video about the 44-day war.

 After honouring the memory of the martyrs with a minute of silence, the Rector of ASOIU, Professor M. Babanli, congratulated everyone on the first anniversary of Victory Day and spoke about the factors that led to the victory. Speaking about the strength of the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the unity of our people and the support of friendly Turkey, Rector Babanli said that our martyrs would live forever in the heart of our people, their memory will always be deeply honoured. Talking about the work done at the university to perpetuate the memory of the deceased graduates, Rector M. Babanli said that it is planned to open classrooms in the name of each of the 22 martyr graduates.

Niyaz Zeynalov, the assistant of the "Industrial Machines" department of ASOIU, a war veteran, spoke about the difficult but no less proud combat path.

Parviz Aslanov, who participated in the Second Karabakh War in battles up to the capture of Shusha, the father of ASOIU first year Vasif Aslanov, said that our victory not only ensured our territorial integrity but also proved the strength, power and unity of our state and statehood.

Members of families and relatives of martyrs also spoke at the event. They shared their memories and thanked for their attention and respect.
