On December 1, a meeting of the academic staff of the Oil Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) took place at the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research and Design-Prospecting Power Engineering Institute (AzSR&DPPEI LLC).
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Oil Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Associate Professor Ali Khikmet Akhmedov, Head of the Department of Mechanics, Professor Alasgar Aliyev, Head of the Department of Industrial Machines, Associate Professor Jamaladdin Aslanov, Head of the Department of Materials science and processing technologies, Associate Professor Tahir Jabbarov, Deputy Dean for scientific affairs, associate professor Tahir Suleymanov, as well as deputy director of AzSR&DPPEI LLC, candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Aytek Babayeva and director of the Laboratory Center Sabina Aliyeva.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation. Ali Hikmet Akhmedov informed the participants about the large-scale reforms carried out at the university in recent years, achievements in science, education and international relations, about the content of new curricula that meet European educational standards in the field of training specialists at the faculty of unique technical and technological specialities from the 2020/2021 academic year, about teaching in English, double degree programs, accreditation of specialities, "Laser Center", as well as about start-up projects and the activities of scientists in technology transfer.
Deputy Director of AzSR&DPPEI LLC Aytek Babayeva told about creating three institutes operating in Azerenerji JSC based on a merger of a research institute and two design institutes also informed about the research work of the institute. Then Sabina Aliyeva spoke about the activities of the laboratory centre, the only one in the country, consisting of 7 sections in this module. Reporting about the laboratory for the study of metals of a destructive profile, S.Aliyeva spoke about the completion of the installation work of the laboratory of non-destructive testing.
At the end of the meeting, the ASOIU faculty got acquainted with the laboratories.
