On December 20, the Rector of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Mustafa Babanli, took part in the International Scientific Conference "POST COP26: Sustainable Development of Eurasian Countries" following the climate summit in Glasgow.
Speaking at the event Rector, Professor M. Babanli, told the conference participants about the university. Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli made a report "Prospects for carbon regulation in Azerbaijan" and spoke about the university's projects in alternative energy and the use of energy resources.
Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Global Climate and Ecology Anna Romanovskaya spoke about the pros and cons of the decisions of the UN climate conference COP26.
Ruslan Aliyev, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), spoke on "Low-carbon development and carbon dioxide absorption projects. Deputy Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO University (MIEP MGIMO) Igbal Guliyev also said about the sustainable energy supply of the Caspian region.
Then, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Caspian Hydrogen Development Group Teymur Abasov spoke about the country's developing renewable energy sources and hydrogen energy.
It should be noted that the Center for Sustainable Development and ESG Transformation of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), as part of the implementation of the Strategic Academic Leadership Program "Priority 2030," organized the event. The Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), the Ministry of Energy, Ecology and Natural Resources, Caspian Hydrogen Development Group, and NIPII ET "Energotransproekt" are invited to participate as partners.
