ASOIU holds the last meeting of the Academic Board in 2021

On December 29, the next meeting of the Academic Board was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) in the traditional format. First, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, congratulated the Research Institute of Oil, Gas and Geotechnical Problems director, Professor Rauf Aliyarov, on his 70th birthday and Dean of the Oil Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Associate Professor Ali Khikmet Akhmedov, on his 60th birthday.

After informing the council members about the issues on the agenda, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, spoke about the process of COVID-19 infection, vaccination and training. He noted that the health of students and staff is a prerequisite for quality education.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, made a report on the state of preparation for the exam session of the fall semester 2021-2022, and also reported on the description of the commission created to perpetuate the names of ASOIU graduates and students who died in the Patriotic War.

At the meeting of the Academic Board, the Head of the Department of General and Applied Mathematics, Professor Araz Aliyev, made a report on the establishment of the international scientific journal "Baku Mathematical Journal" under the leadership of the ASOIU's Department of General and Applied Mathematics. He gave detailed information about the journal's editorial board and its activities.

Then Head of the Department of Doctoral Studies at ASOIU, Associate Professor Zulfiqar Ibrahimli, made a report on the approval of dissertations of doctoral students and dissertators admitted to the doctoral program, the Dean of the Oil Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Associate Professor Ali Khikmet Akhmedov, delivered a report on the faculty, the Scientific Secretary Narmina Aliyeva informed about qualification works and Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Ulviya Abbasova told about the job done for participating in the QS rating.

Having reported on the plan of joint actions of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and the Ministry of Education for the calendar year 2022, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, spoke about the upcoming work to improve the quality of education and informed the meeting participants about promising projects and programs. Speaking about the implementation of double degree programs, the Rector emphasized the importance of further expanding international relations, along with high-quality education, the constant development of scientific achievements.

After discussing the issues on the agenda, unanimous decisions were made at the meeting of the Academic Board. In conclusion, Rector Mustafa Babanli gave recommendations and instructions on all the above issues, including improving the quality of education.
