On January 14, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) took part in the online preparatory meeting of the QS World University Rankings for the 2023 rating period.

The online meeting was attended along with representatives of other local universities by ASOIU's Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Rafig Jamalov, Ulviya Abbasova, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations Ulviya Abbasova and Leyla Nagiyeva, Head of the International Projects Sector and employees.

Opening the meeting, the regional director of the QS World University Rankings, Sergey Khristolyubov, spoke about the current ranking of Azerbaijani universities and future projects. Noting the criteria for including universities in the QS rating, S. Khristolyubov talked about the importance of strengthening scientific capacity to achieve a high ranking. A further action plan and projects for the QS rating were discussed at the meeting. Suggestions and comments were heard. At the end, answers were given to the questions of interest to the participants.
