On February 23, a regular meeting of the Academic Board in the traditional format was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Before announcing the agenda issues, ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, congratulated Professor Rafik Aliyev, Director of BA (PhD, MBA, BBA and ZU) Programs of the University on his 80th and wished him long years of life and good health.
Further, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, informed about the issues on the agenda. After its approval by the Board members, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, made a detailed report on the results of the examination session of the university's autumn semester 2021-2022 academic year. He brought to the attention of the meeting participants the qualitative and quantitative indicators of faculties and courses.
At the meeting, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, created conditions for discussing issues on the agenda, after which decisions were made on the opinion of board members. It was unanimously decided to increase the number of nominal scholarships and, in the future, ensure their changes by the decisions of state bodies, as well as to establish a scholarship named after Professor Rafik Aliyev for Master's students (SABAH) in the speciality "Artificial Intelligence".
Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, speaking of giving Tutors the right to participate in classes (only in supervised groups), about the allocation of scholarships for doctoral students of ASOIU (UFAZ), about the increase by 50 (fifty) manats of the monthly salary of ASOIU employees who are veterans of the 1st and 2nd Karabakh war and other important issues, noted the achievements of the university in a short time and the work to be done to improve the quality of education and training further.
According to the agenda of the meeting of the Academic Board, the Dean of the International Students Office Associate Professor Yashar Hasanov on the state of education of international students and doctoral students, the Chairman of the SSS, Elviz Ismailov, on the activities of the Startup and Innovation Center, lawyer Farrukh Huseynov spoke about the appointments to the positions of professor (associate professor) and decisions to be executed if the Higher Attestation Commission does not approve the documents. Also, Professor Araz Aliyev presented instructions for calculating additional salaries for the teaching staff of ASOIU in 2022, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, Associate Professor Nazila Rahimova, with a report on the development of curricula for subjects taught at the university in IT.
At the meeting of the Academic Board, after discussing the issues on the agenda, the members of the board made unanimous decisions. The Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli expressed his comments and suggestions on all issues and instructions on the upcoming work.
