The commemorative event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide is held at ASOIU

On February 25, a commemorative event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). The event attended by the academic staff and students of the university began with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide and all our martyrs who died for their Motherland.

ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, spoke about the crimes committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis in different periods, emphasizing that the Khojaly genocide was one of the worst tragedies in the history of independent Azerbaijan. He noted that the Khojaly genocide was a crime against humanity and that this crime, unprecedented cruelty, will forever remain in the memory of the Azerbaijani people.

Professor Jamal Mustafayev, Head of the Department of Social Sciences of the university, spoke about the Khojaly genocide and made a brief excursion into the history of Azerbaijan. After listing the historical facts, he told the participants of the event how the Armenian Dashnaks, at every opportunity, tried to commit crimes against Azerbaijanis and seize Azerbaijani lands. The Head of the department, recalling the restored historical justice, noted that with the liberation of our lands within 44 days from the occupation that lasted almost 30 years, the souls of those killed in Khojaly were rested in peace.
