On March 16, the Rector of Turkey's Batman University, Professor Idris Demir and a delegation visited the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). The meeting was held with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagchi and vice-rectors of the university.

Welcoming the guests, ASOIU Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli told them about the university's history, international cooperation and ongoing projects. The Rector, Professor M. Babanli, speaking about the experience of the most successful university project - UFAZ, noted the importance of matching the taught topics to obtain a double degree.

Then Batman University Rector Professor Idris Demir gave detailed information about the centres operating at their university and the specialities taught. He noted that he was pleased to be in the leading university in Azerbaijan.

In his speech, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Cahit Bagchi, spoke about Azerbaijani-Turkish relations. Speaking about the further expansion of cooperation in recent years, the Ambassador expressed confidence that establishing such cooperation between higher educational institutions of the two countries would have great prospects.

As a result, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two universities.
