On March 30, a regular meeting of the Academic Board was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Informing the Board members about the agenda items, ASOIU Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic in the country and the world and the statistics of the COVID-19 pandemic. Noting that, despite the mitigation due to the pandemic, the coronavirus epidemic is not over, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, stressed the importance of strict implementation of the decisions of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers at the university.
Speaking about the educational policy and university innovations, Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli delivered detailed information on the topic “Digital ASOIU: restructuring the working structure of the IT department and management units”. It was noted that after the formation of this system, complete information about each university employee would appear.
Following the agenda, Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about applying the questionnaire “Elmmetric indicators of ASOIU employees” and “Requirements for topics entering doctoral studies in the 2022-2023 academic year”. He said that in addition to raising the level of education at the university, the focus should always be on raising scientific achievements and training young scientists.
At the meeting of the Academic Board, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, made presentations on the increase in tuition fees for specialities of repeated higher education accepted in the 2022-2023 academic year and the payment of hourly wages to the academic staff, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Professor Latafat Gardashova on the topic “Results of scientific work done at the departments during the year” and Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Rafik Jamalov with a report on the state of international relations of ASOIU.
According to the agenda, the annual report of the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Sevinj Mammadkhanova, on the activities of the Faculty was heard. Also, the Head of the Department of Doctoral Studies, Associate Professor Zulfikar Ibrahimli, gave detailed information on the approval of doctoral and dissertation topics for the PhD program.
After discussing the agenda items at the meeting of the Academic Board and making unanimous decisions, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, made comments and suggestions on all issues, gave instructions on the upcoming work and future goals.
