On May 10, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted an event dedicated to the 99th birth anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The event was attended by ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, academic staff and students.
The event participants laid a wreath at the bust and honoured the memory of the great leader.
At the beginning of the event, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. Then a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their Motherland.
Speaking at the event, ASOIU Rector Professor M. Babanli said about the glorious life path of national leader Heydar Aliyev and his tireless work in different periods. Noting the invaluable services of the national leader for the benefit of Azerbaijan, Rector M. Babanli added that our country gained independence thanks to the far-sighted policy of the great leader and thanks to his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, it was able to maintain and strengthen this independence.
Speaking about the ideology of Azerbaijanism and the ideology of Heydar Aliyev, Executive Director of UFAZ, member of the Board of YAP, Associate Professor Vazeh Askerov spoke about the activities of a prominent politician Heydar Aliyev in state-building, domestic and foreign policy.
Professor Jamal Mustafayev, head of the Department of Humanities, spoke about the far-sighted policy of the great leader, the rich heritage of statehood, and invaluable services to our people and noted that the existence of Azerbaijan as an independent state, sustainable development in all areas, stability and solidarity in our country have a direct relation to the Great Leader.
Speaking about the youth policy of the national leader, Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee of ASOIU Namig Ganjayev said about the great leader's large-scale reforms in science and education and stressed that his invaluable merits are always highly appreciated by the Azerbaijani people.
