On May 20, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) basketball team reached the final of the Republican Tournament of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation Cup and took second place.

The competition, which started on May 12, was attended by four groups of 6 teams in each group. In a tense struggle, ASOIU took first place in the group and advanced to the next playoff. Having beaten the opponent in the quarterfinals, our team moved to the final. In the final, they lost to the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports team with a minimum score.

It should be noted that 29 teams (from 24 universities) took part in the basketball championship, organized by the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic, jointly with the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation.
