An awareness-raising event is held at ASOIU within the framework of the "Human Rights Month" announced by the Ombudsman

On June 17, an information-legal event dedicated to human rights was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) within the framework of the "Human Rights Month" announced by the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the event that ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, Head of Legal Education Department of the Ombudsman Office Mugalib Mahmudov, ASOIU Lawyer Farrukh Huseynov and students attended, honoured with a minute of silence, the memory of the sons who heroically died in the Patriotic War.

ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor A. Babayev, welcomed on behalf of the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, spoke about the importance of the event in promoting the protection of human rights, as well as the development of legal thinking and legal culture in society.

Mugalib Mahmudov, Head of the Legal Education Department of the Ombudsman Office, told the event participants about the important provisions of the Azerbaijan Republic Constitution, as well as those related to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of young people established in other legislative acts, about the work carried out at the state level to ensure them, the activities of the Commissioner on human rights in the protection and promotion of human rights.

At the end of the event, discussions were held on the "June 18 - Human Rights Day", and answers were given to students' questions.
