ASOIU starts new academic year

On September 15, the first day of the 2022-2023 academic year began at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). In this regard, ASOIU Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli and university academic staff visited the classrooms and got acquainted with the learning conditions created for first-year students.

First, a wreath was laid at the monument erected at the university to the National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, as well as at the corner dedicated to the graduates-martyrs of ASOIU who died for the Motherland in the 44-day Patriotic War, and the memory of the heroes was honoured.

Several classrooms were visited on the first day of classes, where first-year students' lessons were held. Professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about the large-scale provocation committed by the armed forces of Armenia on September 13 in the direction of the Kalbajar, Lachin, Dashkesan and Zangilan regions of Azerbaijan. Then, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who died for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity while preventing the enemy's provocative actions.

Then the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, noting that the university has created all the conditions for students to receive a good education and become qualified specialists, thanked them for choosing ASOIU.

It should be noted that this year 3,367 applicants entered the bachelor's program, and 1,255 students entered the master's program. In addition, 464 students chose ASOIU to receive a second higher education. In general, in the 2022-2023 academic year, ASOIU's admission plan for the bachelor's level was 98.6 %.
