On October 26, a regular meeting of the Academic Board was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
Before announcing the issues on the agenda, ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, congratulated two University employees - Professor Jamal Mustafayev and Associate Professor Jamaladdin Aslanov on their anniversary and wished them long life and good health.
At a meeting, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov spoke on the implementation of the academic load planned for the 2021-2022 academic year and on the staff of the teaching staff and assistants for the 2022-2023 academic year, the Vice-rector for Scientific Affairs, Professor Latafat Gardashova, gave extensive information to the board members on the results of admission to doctoral studies in the 2022-2023 academic year, as well as the requirements for the positions of professor-researcher, professor, associate professor and teacher. Then, the Dean of the Geological Exploration Faculty, Namad Pashayev, delivered an annual report on the activities of the faculty.
Speaking about the work done to improve education and teaching at the university and future goals, Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, informed the members of the Academic Board about the results of the ASOIU delegation's business trip to Konya and Ankara of the Republic of Turkiye and about awarding the title of Honorary Doctor of ASOIU to the Rector of the Middle East Technical University, Professor Mustafa Versan Keku. It was noted that these meetings would make a unique contribution to the development of cooperation with higher educational institutions of the fraternal country.
Following the agenda, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, speaking about the teacher's rating and the participation of ASOIU in the ranking of world universities (QS, THE, etc.), noted the importance of scientific achievements for the development of the university and spoke about the duties of each teacher and researcher in this activity.
At the meeting of the Academic Board, after discussing the issues on the agenda, the board members made unanimous decisions. The Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, expressed his comments and suggestions on all subjects and instructions on the upcoming work.
