On November 3, an international scientific conference organised by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), the Middle East Technical University (METU), Kazan Federal University (KFU) and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic started.
More than 100 guests worldwide: heads of public and private institutions, including universities, participate in the International Scientific Conference "Thermal Methods for Enhanced Oil Recovery: Laboratory Testing, Simulation and Oilfields Applications", ThEOR2022. Representatives of the Middle East Technical University, Kazan Federal University, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, Southwest Petroleum University (China), University of Houston (USA), Mexican Petroleum Institute and Sharif University of Technology (Iran) also participate.
Opening the conference with an introductory speech, ASOIU Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about the importance of the forum and expressed hope that this conference will play an essential role in revealing new knowledge about innovations in the oil industry, as well as in the process of adapting to the international environment. He noted that several important meetings and the implementation of joint projects are planned within the framework of the conference.
Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullaev said that holding such international conferences in our country makes an essential contribution to Azerbaijani science, especially in increasing scientific knowledge about the oil industry, and wished success to the forum.
Then the co-founders of the conference - Rector of METU, Professor Mustafa Versan Kök, Vice-Rector of KFU, Professor Denis Nurgaliev, Rector of USPTU, Professor Ramil Bakhtizin, as well as guests: BP Vice President Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, SOCAR Vice President Khalik Mammadov, Chairman of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia Anatolii Zamrii spoke about the importance of the conference in terms of the development of the modern oil industry, as well as studying the experience and innovations of different countries, and wished success to the forum.
The conference continued with plenary lectures.
It should be noted that more than 100 articles and abstracts were submitted to the conference. Within the framework of the conference, which will last three days, it is planned to hold trilateral meetings between ASOIU, METU and KFU to discuss the implementation of joint scientific projects and educational programs.
