On November 4, as part of the visit of Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay to Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan-Türkiye business forum is being held at the Heydar Aliyev Center with the organisational support of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy and the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK). The forum is attended by government officials of both countries and entrepreneurs working in the food, construction, transport, logistics, industrial sectors, ICT, textile, and other industries.
Within the framework of the forum, discussions were also held on the development of relations between higher educational institutions of the two fraternal countries, and a new agreement was signed. Thus, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and Istanbul Gedik University of Turkiye.
The agreement's main purpose is to develop cooperation in science and education and implement joint projects between the two higher educational institutions. According to the document, the exchange of students and teachers, the implementation of common educational programs and many education-related projects, also carrying out collaborative scientific research, are planned.
The documents were signed by the ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli and the Rector of Istanbul Gedik University, Professor Ahmet Kesik.
