On December 9, the Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Mustafa Babanli, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Christopher Alberto Martinez Berroteran.
Welcoming the guest, the Rector, Professor M. Babanli, spoke in detail about the university's history, the educational process, international students, cooperation relations, dual projects program, the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ), Startup projects, as well as international relations. Rector M. Babanli said that ASOIU, once the highest educational institution with the largest number of international students, currently has 518 international students and stated that he is interested in attracting students from Venezuela and in cooperation with Venezuelan universities.
Ambassador C.A.M. Berroteran expressed satisfaction with staying at ASOIU and said that considering the friendly relations between the countries, special attention is paid to the development of cooperation proposed by the heads of state. He said that they are interested in establishing and developing relations not only in the oil sector but also in the non-oil sector, as well as in the field of renewable energy sources and the implementation of teacher training programs.
The meeting also discussed the exchange of scientific and educational experience and establishing cooperation between the two countries. The importance of creating cooperation in artificial intelligence, computer technology, and especially oil and energy was discussed.
Then the Ambassador visited the Museum of the History of the University, got acquainted with the historical exhibits of the university and wrote down the wishes in the book of honoured guests.
