On December 12, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted an event dedicated to the memory day of great leader Heydar Aliyev.

At the event, laying a wreath at the bust, the event participants paid tribute to the memory of the great leader, the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

After the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the memory of the great leader was honoured with a minute of silence, and a video clip dedicated to the great leader was shown.

Speaking at the event, ASOIU Rector Professor M. Babanli said about the glorious life path and national-building of the national leader of our people, the world-famous politician and outstanding personality Heydar Aliyev. Talking about the invaluable merits in the fate of the Azerbaijani people, in the formation of national unity and statehood, as well as in strengthening the international position of the country, Rector M. Babanli spoke about the reforms carried out by an outstanding personality in the political, economic, scientific, educational and other fields.

Then the head of the Department of Social Sciences of ASOIU, Professor Jamal Mustafayev, spoke about the historical merits of the national leader Heydar Aliyev to the state and Azerbaijani people. He stressed that Heydar Aliyev would forever remain in the people's memory as a true leader, and his devotion to the Motherland and his life path will be an example for the younger generation.
