On January 26, 2023, UFAZ Steering Committee successfully held its 11th meeting on the premises of the French-Azerbaijani University. The meeting took place in a hybrid format.
The Committee gathered together its official members, including the ASOIU Rector Mustafa Babanli, the President of the University of Strasbourg Michel Deneken, Head of Apparatus Hasan Hasanli, the Head of the Science and Higher Education Department of Yagub Piriyev, both representing Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representative of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Mathieu Perrot, Councilor for Education and Culture Cooperation at the French Embassy to Azerbaijan Charles Denier, Unistra Vice President for Academic Partnerships and UFAZ Coordinator Jean-Marc Planeix and UFAZ Coordinator of Geosciences program Alessia Maggi.
UFAZ Director Vazeh Askarov, Secretary General Elizaveta Bydanova, and Head of Education Department Latifa Nasibova were also participants in this crucial meeting.
The Committee discussed the prospects for the 2023 academic year, the organization of classes, as well as the results of the UFAZ internship experience. The Committee exchanged views on the latest statistical results of undergraduate and graduate students of UFAZ in 2022, measures to be taken in the field of research, as well as the decision of the Academic Committee.
The Steering Committee, the highest management body of UFAZ, takes place twice a year, alternatively in Baku and Strasbourg, to discuss all strategic and operational issues of UFAZ. It is the highest management body of UFAZ, authorized to consider and resolve any matter related to UFAZ.
