The first meeting of ASOIU Academic Board in 2023

On January 25, a regular meeting of the Academic Board was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Before announcing the agenda items, ASOIU Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli congratulated the Head of the Instrument Engineering Department, Professor Lala Bakirova, on her 60th anniversary and wished her long life and good health.

After the speech of Professor Mustafa Babanli, who informed the members of the Academic Board about the issues to be discussed, the agenda was approved.

Speaking about the determination of differentiated salaries for 2022 following Protocol No. 6 of January 26, 2022, of the Academic Board on the calculation of additional salaries for the teaching staff of ASOIU, the Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, spoke about the objectivity and transparency of the criteria for evaluating teachers.
Speaking about the reforms carried out at the university, the improvement of education and teaching, as well as the planned structural changes at the university, Professor Mustafa Babanli, the Rector, informed about the digital ASOIU project, the action plan for 2023, the creation of the “Project Manager” office, the state preparation for the QS rating, and the possibility of additional certificates in a foreign language and speciality. The Board members unanimously adopted innovations and changes by voting.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, spoke about the road map of deans and the results of exams held on 22.12.2022-21.01.2023 (compared to last year), Professor Latafat Gardashova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, made a report on the results of scientific and research work carried out in 2022. The Dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering, Associate Professor Aydin Aliyev, delivered the annual report. Elviz Ismailov, SSS Chairman, spoke about the activities of the Start-UP and Innovation Center, and Kamran Agayev informed the board members about the creation of the AZII Data Analytics centre.

At the meeting of the Academic Board, after discussing the issues on the agenda, the board members made unanimous decisions. Professor Mustafa Babanli, the Rector, expressed his comments and suggestions on all issues and instructions on the upcoming work.
