Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University held an information session for young people within the framework of the Let's get to know Smart Karabakh project.
Representatives of government agencies, media representatives and about 100 young people participated in the event, which took place with the support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and "Ireli" Public Union and with the partnership of "ARB Media Group".
Opening the event, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, greeted the session participants and congratulated them on their election to the project. It was noted that the university regularly hosts events like this every year. The Let's get to know Smart Karabakh project, which took place with the union's support, is one of them. Noting the importance of awareness-raising measures on smart technologies in the current period, Namig Ganjayev, the Student Trade Union Committee Chairman, wishes for success in the project's work.
Arif Rahimli, press secretary of the "İreli" Public Union and project manager, expressed his gratitude to the management of the higher education institution for holding the information session within the Let's get to know Smart Karabakh project at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. It was noted that, along with other universities, students of ASOIU are actively involved in various activities of the Organisation. Emphasising that young people will gain new knowledge in this area during the Let's get to know smart Karabakh project, Arif Rahimli called on young people to participate actively in the question and answer session. It was also noted that information sessions will be held in several higher educational institutions within the project.
Then Elgun Valiyev, an employee of the Strategy, Innovation and Digitalization Department at the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and Elnur Ibrahimov, an employee of the Sustainable Development and Social Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy, made presentations in the Information Department. During the session, the participants were informed about the "Smart City" and its main components, world practice in this area, the role of "Smart City" and "Smart Village" in the process of sustainable development and its economic importance.
The event continued with answers to students' questions. In the end, certificates were presented to the young people participating in the information session.
It should be noted that the project "Let's get to know Smart Karabakh" is being held within the framework of the "Realise the Idea 2022– grant competition for individual youth projects" announced by the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation.
