On April 11, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted an event on "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan's new oil strategy" within the framework of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev". At the event organised with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), first, the participants viewed the exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of great leader Heydar Aliyev.  

After the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan performance, the memory of our martyrs who died in the 44-day Patriotic War and for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence at the event held in the Assembly Hall of the University. 

Then a video entitled "The Great Leader and the Youth of Azerbaijan" was demonstrated. 

Making an opening speech and greeting the guests, Professor Mustafa Babanli, ASOIU Rector, said that national leader Heydar Aliyev, who came to power at the insistence and desire of the people, is a genius person who laid the foundation of the oil strategy in our country and ensured its dynamic development. Noting that the Great Leader paid particular attention to all aspects of socio-economic life in Azerbaijan, including the oil and gas sector, Professor M.Babanli, Rector, said that his oil strategy was successfully continued by Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, today.  

Khayal Jafarov, the director of SOCAR Carbamide Plant, speaking about the historical merits of the Great Leader in the oil strategy, as in all spheres, noted that as a result of the successful implementation of this strategy, the comprehensive development of not only our oil industry but also our country as a whole was ensured.
