On April 13, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an educational event on "Discouraging young people from harmful habits and fighting against tobacco". 

At the event, the memory of our martyrs who gave their lives in the 44-day Patriotic War and for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence. 

The event was organised by ASOIU and the Young Patriots Public Union within the framework of the project Youth awareness-raising measures in the Fight against drug addiction and Tobacco for the Sake of the Future.

Opening the event, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, conveyed greetings of Professor Mustafa Babanli, the Rector, to the event participants, spoke about the importance of the event in terms of youth education, and informed about the measures taken by the state in the fight against drug addiction. 

Ramil Aliyev, Founder and editor-in-chief of Öndər TV, spoke about the work done within the framework of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, Psychotropic Substances and the fight against drug addiction, which has become a scourge of the century. He said raising awareness of young people in this area is essential.
