On May 1, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) ASOIU hosted an event on the launch of bp Azerbaijan and PROSOL's joint cybersecurity training scholarship program. Within the framework of this program, bp Azerbaijan and PROSOL will provide 100% scholarships for 60 students. The PRO-ACADEMY training centre will implement the scholarship program.
Addressing the opening ceremony dedicated to the beginning of the scholarship program, Babek Aghayev, the Co-founder and Chairman of the PROSOL CJSC, talked about the importance of cybersecurity in the digital environment and spoke about the existing shortcomings and problems in this area. Evaluating cybersecurity as a global process on a national basis B. Aghayev noted a need for personnel capable of meeting the rapidly growing demands in the cyber sphere.
Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, bp Azerbaijan vice-president, speaking about the need for cybersecurity professionals, which is the new challenge of the digital world, stressed the importance of teaching digital knowledge to young people. He also noted the importance of a cyber scholarship program in partnership with PROSOL as an essential platform.
Nadir Novruzov, Head of the IT Audit Department at Special Communicatıon and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that working with universities in this area is very important, and they will support the scholarship program. The head of the department noted that the State Service also needs high-level professionals in the cyber sphere and that cooperation with PROSOL company will continue in this direction.
Then, Alikhayyam Guluzade, the Chief Information Security Officer of Prosol, gave detailed information and statistics on the current project. It was noted that 60 students from more than 300 were admitted to the scholarship program. The 3-month project is planned to conduct five subjects on cybersecurity.
