On May 10, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of great leader Heydar Aliyev.

First, a wreath was laid in front of the bust of great leader Heydar Aliyev, and his memory was commemorated with deep respect. Then, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed at the event, and a film about national leader Heydar Aliyev was demonstrated in the Assembly Hall of the University. 

Professor M.Babanli, the Rector, said a series of events and conferences were held at the university within the framework of the 100th anniversary of great leader Heydar Aliyev and they are to be continued. Speaking about Heydar Aliyev's many-scale and unique services in the history of our country, Professor M.Babanli, Rector, said that the development and strengthening of the national statehood of Azerbaijan, as well as the development of education, the oil industry, the economy and other spheres are possible thanks to the purposeful activity carried out under the leadership of the genius person. Rector also noted Azerbaijani people have always remembered Heydar Aliyev as a national leader, founder and saviour of the state and a leader who won the love of the people, and Azerbaijani people will always honour with profound respect the memory of the great leader.
