On May 3-11, 2023, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) staff - Associate Professor Ulviyya Abbasova, ASOIU Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations, Yashar Hasanov, Dean of the International Students Office, visited Tashkent State Transport University and Samarkand State University.
Within the framework of the visits, a meeting was held with Akatov Akmal, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of Samarkand State University, named after Rashidov, Mukhtar Nasirov, senior consultant of the Office for International Relations, representatives of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al- Khwarizmi. The meetings discussed the development of inter-university priorities, increasing scientific potential, and strengthening the internationalization policy.
During the meetings, Assoc. Prof. Ulviyya Abbasova gave detailed information about ASOIU and spoke about new approaches in the training and educational process. She noted that ASOIU's international relations are broad, and it is accessible for Uzbek students to study there. To attract Uzbek students to study at ASOIU, Yashar Hasanov, Dean of the International Students Office, visited different educational centres, where he met almost 800 Uzbek students and their parents. He informed about the life of international students in Azerbaijan, including ASOIU and the education system created in the university. In the end, students and their parents asked many questions about the admission policy, tuition fee and conditions of life in Baku for international students and obtained comprehensive responses. As a result, cooperation relations with ASOIU and Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology were discussed, and an agreement was signed.
During the visit, ASOIU's representatives Araz Merganov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of Tashkent State Transport University, Ulugbek Israelov, head of International Ranking Department, Zebo Bodokhanova, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and Raima Shirinov, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek attended the conference dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the National University of Uzbekistan.
