On May 24, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted a conference on "Heydar Aliyev and the development of Azerbaijan industry" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of great leader Heydar Aliyev. 

The national anthem was performed at the event, beginning with the laying of a wreath in front of the monument to the great leader. 

Opening the event and welcoming the guests, Prof. Mustafa Babanli, ASOIU Rector, noted that a series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader was held at the university and that young people have a particular interest and sympathy for the heritage of Heydar Aliyev. Mustafa Babanli, the rector, said that national leader and genius personality Haydar Aliyev promoted Azerbaijan in the political arena and laid the foundation for developing the country's industry and economy.

Then, speaking about the main directions of the economic policy strategy determined by the great leader, MPs Ziyad Samadzade, Javanshir Feyziyev, Azar Badamov, Azar Karimli, and Mashhur Mammadov spoke about the decisive steps and invaluable services taken by the national leader during his leadership in Azerbaijan in the direction of industry development, as well as in other areas. It was noted that the ten years of leadership of the great leader of modern Azerbaijan are inscribed in the contemporary history of Azerbaijan as a period of socio-economic recovery. During these years, socio-economic and industrial development was ensured. At the same time, foreign investments were attracted to the country, and as a result of successful economic and industry reforms, which were on the brink of crisis, there was a real turn towards progress. The speeches emphasized that today, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully implemented the policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the rapid and comprehensive development of Azerbaijan has been ensured, meeting the requirements of the new time; Azerbaijan has turned from a borrowing country into a powerful state, a safe and prosperous country that provides loans and already sells its industrial products to the world.
