ASOIU representatives attended the International scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Kazakhstan metrology

On May 23, a delegation from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), consisting of Assoc. Prof. Gasim Mammadov, Rasim Abdullayev, and Sabina Aliyeva visited the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology branch in Almaati. The branch director provided an overview of the activities and highlighted the presence of 14 standards (etalons) at the facility. The delegation toured the building and laboratories, established in 1974, and received detailed information about the etalons related to time, mass, length, pressure, etc., as well as ongoing projects and operations.

On May 24, the ASOIU delegation travelled to Astana, and the following day they participated in an international scientific-practical conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of Kazakhstan metrology. Three-panel sessions were conducted following the plenary session on "Measurements as the basis of global confidence," which involved the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, heads of international metrology organisations, and numerous attendees.

During the conference, the delegation had a meeting with Gabit Mukhambetov, the director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization, and presented a gift on behalf of ASOIU to mark the centenary of Kazakhstan metrology. At the second panel session, titled "Human Capital: Trends and the Future of Metrology" and moderated by Gulmira Raisova, the head of the Kazakhstan HR Association, Gasim Mammadov, the associate professor and ASOIU Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, delivered a report highlighting the efforts undertaken by ASOIU in the field of quality personnel training. The proposals related to standardisation and personnel training in metrology implemented by the university garnered significant interest among Kazakhstani specialists. Detailed answers were provided to the questions posed by the attendees.
