On June 14, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) organised an event commemorating National Salvation Day - June 15.
The event commenced with a rendition of the National Anthem and paid tribute to heroic martyrs with a moment of silence who sacrificed their lives during the Patriotic War for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Then a film dedicated to National Salvation Day and highlighting the significant contributions of the Great leader, Heydar Aliyev, who established this momentous occasion, was shown.
Addressing the event, Professor Mustafa Babanli, the Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), spoke about the significance of National Salvation Day-June 15, which is engraved in the history of the Azerbaijani people in both the context of the nation and statehood. He highlighted that due to the farsighted policies of the Great leader, Azerbaijan successfully averted the threat of losing its independence and achieved independent socio-economic development, thereby elevating the country to the level of an influential and democratic nation recognised worldwide. Rector Mustafa Babanli also mentioned that since 2003, President Ilham Aliyev has duly continued the political line of the national leader.
Dr Jabi Bahramov, the Executive Director of the Institute of History at Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and a Doctor of Philosophy in History, spoke about various aspects related to the political career of the Great leader, Heydar Aliyev during his second return to political power in Azerbaijan. He highlighted the political activities of the national leader in the direction of preventing the threat of the destruction of our statehood, as well as the political processes of that time and the invaluable role played by Heydar Aliyev as a saviour.
In conclusion, as a young individual, Javanshir Abdullayev, the Chairman of ASOIU's Student Youth Organization (SYO), spoke about the salvation mission of the national leader, Heydar Aliyev. He emphasised that the glorious life path of the Great Leader serves as an exemplary model for future generations.
