ASOIU hosts Dual Diploma Program presentation in Renewable Energy

On June 3, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) showcased its Dual Diploma Program in Renewable Energy. This event was part of a collaborative initiative with the University of Warwick. 

During the event, ASOIU's Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, emphasised the significance of the Dual Diploma Program with the University of Warwick. Warwick University is currently ranked 67 in the QS World University Rankings for the 2024 academic year. Rector M.Babanli stated that this unique program merges the expertise of both universities to offer students a unique educational experience. He expressed that this high-quality education in renewable energy would significantly aid in developing specialists in the field, fostering innovative solutions with modern technologies, and optimising engineering projects.

Nijat Mammadli, the advisor to the Minister of Science and Education, highlighted the dual diploma program's importance during his address. He noted that the program, part of the state's initiative to boost the international competitiveness of Azerbaijan's higher education system from 2019 to 2023, holds a special place in Azerbaijan's higher education landscape. N. Mammadli emphasised that formulating strategies for renewable energy is a global priority, especially in Azerbaijan. He expressed confidence that the program would positively influence the reputation of Azerbaijani universities worldwide.

Following this, PhD Rafig Aliyev, the Director of the Dual Diploma Program in Renewable Energy, presented a speech elaborated on the mission, vision, and objectives of the Azerbaijan State Oil & Industry University in the realm of sustainable and green energy. Furthermore, he also provided insight into the operation details of teaching and admission procedures. R. Aliyev outlined the interlinked curriculum presented by both universities, emphasising the synergy between the two institutions in delivering a well-rounded educational experience. Finally, the discussion touched upon the opportunities related to the closed IELTS examination session, made possible through the collaboration between the British Council and ASOIU. This session is intended to present an opportunity for the program's participants to register for an English language proficiency assessment, a crucial component given the international collaboration involved in the program. The event concluded with a Q&A session, addressing the participants' queries.
