On July 6, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) organised a meeting with alumni from previous years.
The event, which is traditionally held annually at the university, was attended by ASOIU's Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli, vice-rectors, government and public representatives, alumni, families of martyrs students, current students, and media representatives.
Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli extended a warm welcome to the guests and expressed gratitude to the alumni for upholding the institution's reputation. Rector M. Babanli discussed the outcomes of the 2022/2023 academic year, the achievements attained, international collaborations, and the dual diploma programs at the university, highlighting the ongoing efforts in this direction, particularly on a broader platform for ASOIU to occupy leading positions and advance in global rankings. Rector Professor Mustafa Babanli conversed with the parents of ASOIU's graduate martyrs attending the event, emphasising that this university is their native educational institution.
Highlighted the importance of the traditional meeting with the alumni at the university, ASOIU Professor Rafig Aliyev emphasised the significance of graduates forging strong relationships with their alma mater and the importance of supporting the university's endeavours in elevating its ranking and fostering the development of connections with the business environment.
Several alumni, including MP Soltan Mammadov, Vugar Rahimzade, Chairman of the YAP Khatai District Organization, Yusifov Rufan and other guests, shared their reminiscences of student life, expressed gratitude to their teachers, and shared positive memories. The graduates expressed their happiness to participate in the meeting and praised the recent developments at the university.
The event continued with a concert program held in the university courtyard.
Before the meeting, Rector Mustafa Babanli met with the alumni board to discuss expanding alumni-university relations and establishing a dedicated platform. The graduates shared their suggestions and desires for the future development of their alma mater, emphasising the significance of cooperation with their university.
